Safire champion

Wow, we are so proud! The Safire-sponsored local waveski champion Ian Macleod has just captured the World Masters title at Durban’s North Beach, during the World Waveski Titles 2014 event, which took place at the beginning of May. “The conditions weren’t ideal for me, with quite small waves, which better suit the smaller French riders, so I am very proud to have achieved this,” says Ian. Ian also recently won the first leg of the World Series, the WP Open at Jongensfontein, beating five times World Champion, Mathieu Babarit into second place. Ian then competed at Jefferies Bay, where he came in joint third place with Pablo Airways, the current world number 2 and the current World Junior Champ. Mat Babarit was first and Renan Guilbert was second. After the Border Open, Mat Babarit won the South African series, narrowly beating Ian into second place. Congratulations to you Ian on your World Masters title!
