Rural school children often walk long distances. Imagine doing that without anything to carry your books and other gear in? Uzwelo Bags is an amazing project that helps people and the planet: Expand a Sign provides surplus waste material to trained ladies in impoverished communities, who use it to create 100% unique once-off bags. No fabric sent to landfills, and the ladies proudly make an income. The Safire team were delighted to recently hand over 152 bags to eager youngsters at Gulube Primary School in the Mid-Illovo community. These colourful and functional school bags were sponsored by Safire and various other sponsors and riders who participated in the 2019 Husqvarna Classic Mid-Illovo MTB Challenge & Trail Run. The school bags are equipped with a stow-away rain hoodie to keep learners and their books dry on wet days and resulted in many happy, smiling faces.
