12 May Sweet little bunnies for Easter

Safire staff members were greeted with sweet little bunnies when they arrived at their desks on Thursday 17 April, the day before the Easter break. But these weren’t fluffy bunnies; they were tasty, handcrafted treats, baked by a super-busy, multi-tasking mom! 

Renee Ekerold started making biscuits back in 2021 as part of her Little People Creations kiddie’s party décor business. “Little People Creations started out doing party packs, popcorn boxes, water bottle labels etc to match party themes. In 2020 I began making iced biscuits for my children’s birthdays, and when friends asked if I’d make some for their children’s parties I agreed. Then more people started asking for my biscuits and in 2021 I made the biscuit side of the business ‘official’ – it’s been so much fun!” laughs Renee.

She makes every biscuit herself by hand, although for high-demand celebrations such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, and Christmas, she calls in reinforcements – her mother and mother-in-law – who help with dough preparation and packaging the finished, beautifully iced biscuits. No wonder she needs a few extra hands – Renee works full time, while being mom to her two little boys and wife to her Insurance Broker husband!
