At Safire, we believe that a little kindness goes a long way—and what better way to spread joy than with tasty treats and heartfelt gestures? Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to make people feel special, and we love finding ways to give back, not just to our wonderful team but to the community that surrounds us.

On Valentine’s Day, 14 February, we sprinkled some sweetness into the day by partnering with Flour Power, a local enterprise founded by talented baker Yukta Sewsunker, who created the most delightful, melt-in-your-mouth, heart-shaped butter biscuits. These golden nibbles of happiness were waiting on our team’s desks, along with a light-hearted Valentine’s Day message, to bring a smile to their faces as they started work.

But the sweetness didn’t stop there! As they savoured their gifts, our team wasn’t just indulging in deliciousness—they were also helping to support a worthy cause. Proceeds from Flour Power sales go to remedial schools in and around our head office hometown of Pietermaritzburg, helping children who need a little extra-special care. Yukta, who was born with MSUD, an extremely rare genetic condition, started the Flour Power home industry project from her home during the COVID-19 lockdown.

So, this Valentine’s Day, love was more than just in the air—it was in every crumb, every smile, and every act of kindness. Because at Safire, we know that the best gifts are the ones that keep on giving.
