21 Nov Harald Niebuhr retires from the Board

Safire would like to thank Harald Niebuhr for his many years of dedicated service as a Director; he has announced his resignation from the Safire Board due to his many commitments. “We sincerely appreciate Harald’s selfless service over the years,” says Safire CEO Pierre Bekker. “He has tirelessly and consistently represented the interests of local timber growers. His expertise in forestry has been invaluable and we value his commitment over the many years that he has been with us.”

Harald has served on the Safire Board for two terms: from 2003 to 2011 and 2017 to 2024, and also served on the following Board Committees: the Audit Committee, the Investment Committee, and the Remunerations Committee (as Chairperson).

He is a farmer in the Paulpietersburg area, and is also MD at NTE Company Limited and a Director at NCT Forestry Co-operative Ltd.

A farewell celebration was held recently for Harald at Star Dam Estate in the Dargle.
