The South African Insurance Crime Bureau (SAICB) has issued an alert that high value vehicles are being targeted by syndicates pretending to be employees of upmarket vehicle dealerships, specifically their service or customer service departments. According to Hugo van Zyl, Chief Operating Officer for SAICB (NPC), the operators obtain information about a specific vehicle which has been booked in for service or repairs as well as the details of the client involved.
